April 8, 2024 Total Solar Eclipse

We were about 11 miles inside NW edge of Totality and we experienced 2 mins 35 secs of darkness.

12:22 pm - 3:02 pm CST

Partly sunny 78° day, 64% humidity

10 mph winds, 9 mile visibility

The Moon was 223,000 miles away

Duration: 2 hours 39 minutes

Maximum Eclipse at 1:42 pm

Totality: 2 mins 35 secs

Sunspots are visible with Baader filter, but nothing was visible during totality...

8" CPC 800 telescope @ f6.3

AstroZap Baader Solar Filter

.001 secs, ND96 filter

1:33 pm, 1:41 pm, 1:43 pm

The solar filter filtered the faint corona during totality, so there was nothing to see and switched to iPhone around totality.

1:41 pm - 1:43 pm

1:41 pm - 1:42 pm

April 7, 2024 (24 hrs. before maximum Total Eclipse)
